The best beaches in the world?

In search of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches around the world.

I'm a sucker for beaches, my favourites being the more unspoilt, remote and secluded beaches. I'm particulary drawn to those with white sands and crystal clear turquoise waters and even better for me if these beaches are surrounded by towering cliffs covered in lush green tropical foliage. This attraction might be because where I live on the North-East coast of England, the sea there is far from turquoise and warm :-)

So this blog post was created after much research in seeking out the best beaches all around the world. Let's start with the Seychelles:

Seychelles beaches:

Anse Source d'Argent Beach, La Digue Island, Seychelles. Regulary voted one of the best beaches in the world.

Beaches in the Seychelles are often highly ranked in any list of the best beaches in the world. With the uniquely weathered granite rock faces, white sands, palm trees and turquoise waters - it's hard to find a more picture perfect beach than those in the Seychelles. Brazil beaches::

Whilst beaches like those in the Seychelles Islands are quite well known as some of the best beaches in the world, the beaches in Brazil are perhaps a little less familiar. That is all changing though and recently the Baia Do Sancho beach on the main island of Fernando de Noronha in Brazil was voted the Worlds best beach by users of Trip Advisor. In the photo below it's easy to see why, but my personal favourite Brazil beach also happens to be on the island of Fernando de Noronha, not very far away from Baia Do Sancho beach, and these beaches are Do Meio and Conceição beaches as seen in the 2nd photo down.

Brazil has lot's of beautiful unspoilt beaches and Lopes Mendez beach is also worth a shout out here on the island of Ilha Grande.

The Maldives:

The Maldives is another place which feature highly in a list of the world's best beaches. The maldives are spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometres in the Indian Ocean, and are made up of 1,192 coral islands. Many are inhabited - and there are also many which are not. If you are looking for a secluded beach, with crystal clear waters and white sand, with only you on the island - this is the place to head, and you might even have an island to yourself!

On it's day, when the sun is shining - Luskentyre beach, on the Isle of Harris, Scotland, can rival any tropical white sandy beach in the world!

and finally….

To wrap up this blog post, here are a couple of beaches from England's north-east coast where the author of this blog, me, Stuart Hodgson, is from. England's northern coastline is steeped in character and history, and has an appeal all of it's own. (But it takes a brave person, or a rare summer heatwave to actually enter the North Sea  where I live!) Below is my favourite English beach at Bamburgh, with Bamburgh Castle in the background, which is a couple hours drive from where I live.

Last but not least - the beach on my doorstep on the rugged North-East England coast. We don't get turquoise waters here - which is probably why I have a fascination with other, more tropical beaches around the world!
